Now Open!

Price Rite has expanded into New Jersey and the new Price Rte of Garfield is now open.

While Price Rite stores have traditionally been a corporately owned brand, this new location will be owned by Inserra Price Rites, a family business which also owns and operates 22 ShopRite stores in New Jersey and New York.

With more 50 Price Rite locations throughou…t the Northeast, the Price Rite of Garfield will be the first in New Jersey. Located at 59 Outwater Lane, the 41,000 sq. ft, the state-of-the-art store will bring nearly 100 full- and part-time jobs to the community.

Price Rite’s mission is to provide customers with a “clean, fresh, and friendly” shopping experience every day. Also known for its unmatched value, Price Rite offers customers the same quality foods as traditional supermarkets at about half the price and with the convenience of warehouse club-style shopping without the membership fees or bulk-buying requirements.

Price Rite employs a self service format that includes fresh produce delivered daily; packaged meats; baked goods; a variety of private label and national grocery brands; as well as dairy and frozen food products.

The new store will also feature some of the industry’s leading “green technologies,” including glass doors on dairy cases, and energy-efficient lighting and refrigeration throughout the store.

To further reduce costs and pass along those savings to customers, Price Rite does not advertise or publish a weekly circular. Customers are encouraged to use their own bags or to buy them as needed for 10¢ each, which benefits the environment while containing costs. By focusing on keeping operating costs low, Price Rite is proud to pass significant savings along to its customers.

“I am so excited and grateful to have been given this opportunity by my family to open an Inserra Price Rite in Garfield,” said Lawrence Inserra III, president of Inserra Price Rites. “Our family has been in the grocery business for 60 years and they have left me with an amazing blueprint, which has taught me to always take care of the people you work with and for. I look forward to working with an incredible team for an incredible town and hope that amongst a variety of competition, our quality, price and people attract the community to Price Rite.”

Price Rite is coming to Camden, NJ!

Mayor Dana L. Redd, Senator Donald Norcross, Council President Frank Moran and the Ravitz Family Markets announced today that PriceRite will expand its offering to New Jersey and has begun construction o…n its newest location, scheduled to open in the City of Camden this fall.

“I am proud to partner with the Ravitz family and PriceRite to bring yet another high quality supermarket in Camden,” Mayor Redd said. “I promised our residents access to fresh produce, meats and bakery goods and I am thrilled to be able to keep my word to them. Simply put, our Camden families deserve healthy food options and they will undoubtedly be getting this at PriceRite.”

While PriceRite stores have traditionally been a corporately owned brand, this new location will be owned by Ravitz Family Markets, which also plans to open a ShopRite store in Camden in 2016. The Ravitz family currently owns five ShopRite stores in Burlington and Camden Counties.

“My family and I are grateful to our new Camden neighbors for the opportunity to bring them not one but two brand new supermarkets,” said Jason Ravitz, vice president of retail operations for Ravitz Family Markets. “Expanding our commitment to the city of Camden with the addition of a PriceRite store is a natural next step for us as we work to provide the community with fresh food at great prices.”

Located at 2881 Mt. Ephraim Avenue, the 43,000 square foot, state-of-the-art PriceRite of Camden will bring more than 80 full- and part-time jobs to the community.

PriceRite’s mission is to provide customers with a “clean, fresh, and friendly” shopping experience every day. Also known for its unmatched value, PriceRite offers customers the same quality foods as traditional supermarkets at about half the price and with the convenience of warehouse club-style shopping without the membership fees or bulk-buying requirements.

“Last year’s announcement that Pathmark was closing brought the term ‘food desert’ home for too many Camden residents, taking away their only access to fresh produce,” said Senator Norcross. “Healthy nutrition and affordable options are critical to an individual’s well-being. The Ravitz family understands that and they acted quickly. Now we’re making lemon-aid out of lemons, with not one but two grocery stores coming to the city.”

“I am thankful to the Ravitz family for once again believing in Camden by opening their first of two supermarkets right here in our city,” Council President Moran said. “The opening of PriceRite will not only mean that our residents will have access to fresh and healthy foods, but also job opportunities in their own backyard.”

PriceRite employs a self-service format that includes fresh produce delivered daily; packaged meats; baked goods; a variety of private label and national grocery brands; as well as dairy and frozen food products.

Caring for Our Communities

As a provider of quality foods and groceries to dozens of communities across six Northeastern states, Price Rite believes it can do its part in helping those in need. That’s why Price Rite supports more than 60 charitable organizations in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia.

Through a partnership with regional food banks, Price Rite supports a variety of organizations, from social service to faith-based agencies and initiatives, each one fighting hunger by providing either food or meals.

About Price Rite

The Price Rite store differentiates itself from its competitors by saving its customers up to 50 percent off their everyday grocery bills. By delivering a blend of variety, price, quality products and freshness at incredibly low prices, Price Rite’s targeted approach has earned it a following among a growing niche of price-conscious consumers.

The first Price Rite store opened its doors in West Springfield, MA in 1995 by PRRC, Inc. a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wakefern Food Corp.  Today there are more than 50 locations throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Maryland. Through this growth, Price Rite’s mission remains the same – to offer customers Impossibly, Inconceivably, Incredibly Low Grocery Prices Everyday in a clean, fresh and friendly environment.

Price Rite supermarkets feature expansive produce departments, fresh-baked goods delivered daily, choice pre-packaged meat and seafood products and a remarkably low-priced assortment of quality private label items. Price Rite offers its customers many of the most popular grocery items on the market today, including leading national brands, all at incredibly low prices. By finding the best deals and limiting the number of items stocked, Price Rite passes huge savings along to its customers, who can save up to 50% off of their grocery bills.

How does Price Rite offer value in the same quality products found in other supermarkets? To start, Price Rite doesn’t advertise regularly. There are no weekly circulars or catchy television commercials, and the savings in these practices are passed on to its 15,000 weekly customers. Price Rite’s philosophy is similar to that of the warehouse clubs – no expensive store décor, just a clean, convenient, and friendly place to shop – without a costly membership fee or coupons to clip.

At an average of 35,000 square feet, Price Rite stores are smaller than traditional supermarkets, allowing customers to quickly discover the best values in the store.
